I finally got to see The Dead play live and the show was easily one of the most incredible I've seen. The vibe at HSBC Arena was great and the band responded with a tight set.

Joe Strummer was one of the all-time great lyricists and this song is fine proof of that. Listening to his music stirs up a joyous feeling that we're all in this together and can eventually take the planet back from the powers that be. He left us too soon but he also left us with a rock-solid blueprint... all we have to do is carry it forward. If you haven't see it yet, do yourself a favor and check out "The Future is Unwritten" for a glimpse inside this legend.

MY FAVORITE THINGS

How can you not love this? This piece of porcelain goodness makes it easier for me to get up in the morning which is no small feat.

It's hard for me to rationalize extracting joy from a material possession but this mug has powers beyond my comprehension.

Neil Young's famous for bucking commercial endeavors but even he couldn't resist something this appealing. Instead of thinking about it too much I just let it do its thing.

Howdy folks, thanks for swinging by and reading my first post.

There’s no grand plan here other than to post about things that make me smile. Luckily that gives me an unlimited supply to draw from and share with you.

That being said, here’s the first thing that makes me smile - the irrepressible Bill Haverchuck from “Freaks and Geeks” having a nosh with Garry Shandling all while The Who’s “I Am One” provide a sterling soundtrack.
